This violet, synthetic, absorbable monofilament has excellent pliability and handling characteristics. It retains 42% to 76% tensile strength at 7 days, 36% to 52% at 14 days, and is essentially absorbed at 90 days.¹ MonoPGA-PCL offers significantly less drag than absorbable synthetic sutures, provides excellent knot security, and offers a consistently reliable breaking strength, retention, and absorption rate. These characteristics make it very popular for subcuticular closure and soft-tissue approximation.

Our blue, nonabsorbable, monofilament Nylon is a polyamide suture with characteristic high-tensile strength. The uniform smooth surface permits easy passage through tissue. All our suture is configured in racetrack packaging to minimize memory. We offer this suture in multiple sizes with a variety of needle types.

This violet, medium-term synthetic absorbable monofilament is indicated for use in general soft-tissue approximation and/or ligation. Polydioxanone boasts a high initial tensile strength, providing wound support for slow-healing tissues such as muscle and fascia. Soft and pliable, the construct is absorbable with extended wound support for up to 6 weeks. At 14 days, it retains 80% to 90% tensile strength, 60% to 82% at 28 days, 47% to 79% at 42 days.¹ Polydioxanone is essentially absorbed between 180 and 220 days.

PolyPGA

PolyPGA

The extraordinarily smooth, low-friction proprietary coating on this suture reduces tissue drag. PolyPGA is a synthetic absorbable suture with exceptional strength that ensures closure through the critical wound healing period, up to 4 weeks. Its synthetic nature offers minimal tissue inflammation and is ideal for tissues requiring knot security. It retains approximately 50% of its high initial strength at 2 weeks and 20% at 3 weeks.¹ It is available as violet multifilament.

Polypropylene

Inert, smooth, and easy to handle, polypropylene is our most versatile monofilament suture. Its tensile strength is superior to other true monofilaments. In addition, a unique extruding technique ensures a uniformly round cross section and a strand that passes easily through tissue for better knot security with fewer throws.
