The ACP Max device is a buffy-coat-based system used to facilitate the safe and rapid preparation of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a sample of the patient's own blood.
 
Interest in the use of autologous blood products in various orthopedic procedures has been on the rise. PRP can be used at the point of care for treatment of osteoarthritis or mixed with autograft or allograft bone prior to application.

Orthobiologics: The What and the How

The ACP Max™ system provides platelet-rich plasma (PRP) by the concentration of platelets and growth factors from whole blood for use at the point of care. Expanding on the previous generation of PRP devices, the ACP Max system allows for a larger blood volume. Additionally, the system provides increased platelet concentration while maintaining a decrease in white blood cells from the previous generation PRP by using a unique double-syringe, doublespin design.
